Idk if it's just because I drive so much more in iRacing, but I feel way more consistent in it than Assetto Corsa. I rarely get my lap times to all be within 1 second of each other in AC, but in iRacing that's just normal. I racing is about finding the rail and staying under it. AC is about playing on the rail.
A controller will allow you to play the game and thats about it. A wheel is the way to go. If you don't want to spend $200+, you should definatly get a Driving Force GT. You can get a new one of those on amazon for $130 and a used one for as low as $50. I recently sold mine for $65.

People that say Assetto Corsa is more realistic than AM2 do not know what they are talking about , AM2 is far superior in every way to AC , physics realism FFB Graphics multiplayer , Championships. Most of all realism physics and weather are outstanding
